Thanks to all for the info, all the replies since my last one were excellent, i shall reveal which method i went with very soon I'd say you at least need one Nvidia and one Ati driver. I'd suggest Ati Radeon Catalyst v6. You could add lots of old cards matrox, intel, 3Dfx I was going to write something else but its not yet relevant.
